I wasn't blown away by Avatar either. It was good but good effects make a special effects award, not a best picture award. The story unoriginal and a lot of the acting was crap.

Avatar was okish, very glad it didn't win Best Picture. My choice for Best Picture would have been A Serious Man.

Oh yeah this thread still exists!
Well I suppose we all saw Avatar since this thread was last active, average film but the visuals and 3D make it a must see in the cinema...dunno if I'd be bothered watching it at home, at least not until we have 3D-TV...
